How Amazing Cup Ramen Is!

There are a lot of places where instant cup noodles are sold, like convini, grocery stores, and supermarkets. Are you underrating this amazing food? This food can be not only emergency food, but also great souvenirs. Sometimes it might be fancy dinner. Today, I’m going to share how amazing cup ramen is. Let’s go!

A Great Invention

According to Wikipedia, instant cup noodles are known as “cup ramen” in Japan. It was invented in 1971 by Momofuku Ando (安藤百福), who is founder of Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd., (日清食品), one of the biggest food companies in Japan. When many people hear the word Nissin (日清), they think of cup ramen immediately. Now that they are selling them all over the world. How great it is that you just pour hot water in the cup ramen. And then, after waiting three minutes, you can eat it.

The Classic Taste

*This Cup Noodle is the first taste of their products.

There are so many taste like tonkotsu (豚骨), shoyu (しょうゆ; soy sauce), miso (味噌), shio (salt), seafood, and curry, but you must eat the original soy sauce taste, Cup Noodles. This taste has simple soy sauce and chicken soup stock. After my long ramen journey, I’d love to get back to the simple one again. Even though there are many flavors, this one is definitely the classic. The long history of Cup Noodles has started from this one. Sometimes, you want to have simple tastes, don’t you?

For A Person Who is Health Conscious

When I was kid, I was taught by my parents that I was not supposed to eat cup ramen much. This is because the nutrition isn’t balanced enough. However, kids are always kind of rebellious. I used to love to eat it secretly. That brings back a good memory. Now, they offer a health conscious flavor, as you can see below. You might not get yelled at by your parents. Of course, they have too much salt, oil, and additives, so it goes without saying that it’s not good for your health. That’s why it’s my guilty pleasure.

*”あっさりおいしい” : This series has a smaller amount of noodles, salt, and calories compared to regular ones.

*”高たんぱくPRO”: It contains high protein(15g) and fewer carbohydrates (50%) compared to regular one.

Collaboration With Famous Ramen Restaurant

*It might be a bit pricey compared to ordinary cup ramen, but it’s worth it. Tenka Ippin is one my favorite restaurants. If you get a chance, please check out my previous article below.

Thanks to a recent ramen trend, it’s getting popular to collaborate with famous ramen restaurants these days. Food companies replicate accurately the taste of famous ramen restaurants by providing their recipes. I’ve never would have thought that both parties would have cooperated with each other because cup ramen as thought of as a cheaper alternative to authentic ramen restaurants. Plus, the technology of food companies couldn’t replicate their taste precisely in the past. I’d have to say that they still can’t replicate the taste 100%, but you can taste a certain level of similarity. If you like it, you might visit physical restaurants afterwards.

How To Cook

All you need is to boil water, and then pour it into the cup. Then, wait three to five minutes. While you’re waiting time, you might put a source that attached the ramen on the cup to melt it easier. That’s a breeze. If you don’t mind raw eggs, you might want to put it into the cup before pouring hot water. It might be a good option to add frozen vegetables. It might give a good excuse for your health.
